I was always told growing up that I was “too sensitive”. I thought this was a flaw and I needed more of a backbone. I’ve come to accept and embrace this because this is my gift that I give to you. My sensitivity means I probably know exactly how you feel. I’ve dealt with crippling anxiety and depression in the past, so when you describe these feelings to me, there’s a good chance I know what you’re going through. And if you try to use food or change your body to cope with these uncomfortable feelings, then I’ve definitely been in your shoes.

In 2005 after a 10 year battle, I recovered from my own eating disorder.  Clients report that my history of struggle and recovery helps them feel more fully understood, and gives them hope that a life without disordered eating is possible for them. I have worked for 10 years combining counseling and nutrition and find it to be the best combination for working with people with eating disorders. Omni’s mission of whole person nourishment is exactly what I do with clients in every session.

I am likely the most honest person you will ever meet. If you want a soft and fuzzy therapist that just wants to talk, I’m probably not the right therapist for you. My style is reflective, relational, and very action-oriented. I don’t want you to live the rest of your life with your eating disorder.

In my spare time you’ll find me hiking in the mountains of Colorado, cooking, and trying my best to put my phone down and read a real book.

**My education and licensure: I have been a Registered Dietitian for 17 years (CDR #933352). I graduated with my Masters in Counseling in May of 2013 and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #12455) since May of 2015.
